Introspective person trying to get out of my head and live a little more. I like discussing things in detail, but I don't always have the energy to do so, so my apologies if I suddenly drop a conversation. If I'm silly like that, please know that I appreciate your time anyways.
Current fixation: Naruto, with a spotlight on my favorite Uchiha.
I think what gets me most is that there is no ‘winning’ scenario to the writing here.
If SoJ wants us to believe in this backstory, then it retroactively makes Apollo not getting Machi’s situation immediately into something contradictory and Apollo kind of looks like an asshole. That’s not even negative character growth.
It ALSO directly shows us the consequences of Dhurke’s neglect outside of the portrayal in SoJ itself; we as the players have already seen the loneliness and horror of a child abandoned in another country through Machi. If SoJ ran with that, it could have worked to try and connect that plot thread from AA4, contradiction aside…but SoJ wants you to feel sympathetic towards Dhurke. It wants to treat him as a well-meaning, if misguided father figure to Apollo, and have Apollo, as well as the player, connect with Dhurke in time for the tragic reveal. Yet, with the harm shown through Machi, we have even LESS reason to feel sympathetic to Dhurke, especially as he chose to put Apollo through that, whereas Machi’s situation was due to a bad decision that he made and kept from his parental figure.
It’s a baffling oversight…which is about to be made worse by Capcom putting SoJ as part of an Apollo Justice “Trilogy”, lmao.
I am dying to know who is on that Summer banner, and who I have to kill to get the partially-datamined Spurn 4. I don’t think it’ll be available in the upcoming Binding Blade Hall of Forms, assuming it’s not Legendary Lilina. I’m gonna be real sad if it’s a character I actually like–it’s hard enough to convince myself to kill Seasonals as it is.
Having a real “Do It For Him” board in the back of my brain, but mannnn, he needs help now, too.
@jaskerart is responsible for depicting these two so spectacularly!
Biggest flaw in FE3H? FByleth can’t S-Rank Manuela! The way she says “…and available~” no matter which Byleth you are? No way in hell is she straight!
So here’s the story behind this one; Byleth falls head over heels for the Divine Songstress at first sight, Manuela is extremely fond of the Ashen Demon, but can’t figure out why. Then, at some point in White Clouds, Byleth gives her a really sweet compliment and gets GLOMPED, leading to the pictured scene!
Things that the Completely Innocent Edelstan Server have done that warrants absolutely no self-reflection:
Calling a woman “nominally bi” for liking mlm ships over wlw ones in one specific fandom:
Calling someone a pedo and alt-right:
Calling an open asexual woman a homophobic Christian who hates lesbians:
Saying literally anyone who “shows disrespect” towards Dorothea, a fictional woman who isn’t real, must hate women:
Imagining “AU’s” of horrific real-life events for a gotcha for fandom arguments, while accusing “Mooners” of being Holocaust deniers:
Calling a (hypothetical) black woman wrong for preferring Dimitri over Edelgard, because Dimitri is “representative of deities worshipped by white supremacists” - I say hypothetical black woman because the woman in question isn’t black:
Insisting that a female user is actually some other male redditor pretending to be a woman:
Accusing a user of being an incestual necrophiliac:
Saying that Rhea fans overlook her being a groomer:
Casually joking about killing a real, breathing woman:
And remember, if anyone tries to say that maybe the server should back off and stop doing stuff like this?
The server has done nothing wrong. Everyone else started everything. So there is no reason for them to be civil towards the people they have spread such rancid accusations about, for months, if not years. Revealing what they’ve been saying in their discord about people is wrong, because everything they’ve said in the discord was fair to say - they shouldn’t know what’s said about them.
Like I said before: completely hinged behavior, nothing to see here i promise
Okay I got word the Edelgard Discord server got pretty upset about me posting the screenshots of me being called a lolicon and Tucker Carlson. It’s apparently harassment to show what is said about yourself in a public server. So now they will try to use codewords for when they talk about me, which already happened before mostly bilsh. I’m also getting called names :( At least one person seems to be against it, but maybe only because it makes the server look bad.
Edelstans: *spread false accusations about people with no evidence on a public discord*
The people they’re lying about: *reveals what they’re saying to others*
Edelstans: They won’t leave us alone!!! No matter what we do to stay out of it they drag us back in!!! They’re ignoring the vulnerable people they’d be hurting by doing this to us!!!
completely hinged behavior nothing to see here i promise
Took me going to the reblogs to realize that the weirdo obsessed with virginity was fucking Diaphin, because of course it was.
Reminder to anyone reading this that you are not lesser for being a virgin, be it by choice or circumstance. Whether you’ve engaged in intercourse doesn’t matter to your worth as a human being.
oKAY LISTEN, I read this 13 year old unfinished fic called
“Unwilling Partners” and I’ve never touched a single megaman game in my
life and now this creature is permanently branded in my head and I’m downloading the game tonight. (Edit: FIXED A THING)
The fanfiction.net link to the story. It’s also on deviantART, and AzTheDragon is here on Tumblr, under that same name.
It’s Dimitri, Claude and Rhea that prevent a golden route
What’s Really Preventing a Golden Ending?
Edelgard, but of course that’s not what you’re going to argue.
I will note I cover this and the previous one because these posts are presented as meta and not just as headcanon.
Authors note: The title is a (pretty obvious) play on [user’s] Edelgard and Trust. The essay itself builds on it quite a lot, so the original is kind of required reading. Full disclosure: this essay is kind of weird because I started on one side of an argument and ended up on a distinct opposing side by the end. Rather than restructure the essay to support a new argument from the beginning, I decided to keep it the way it started so the reader can see the evolution of my thinking.
This is thus a response to the post that originated the “swearing fealty” take. I am curious to see the change in their thinking.
Intro
A lot of people in the Three Houses fandom, especially fanfic writers, are eager to see a “golden ending” to the game: one where everyone can get what they want and be happy (well, all of the Lords, anyway.) Alternatively, a lot of people at least want a sort of “silver ending”, where at least two of the Lords end up working together.
A golden route is impossible because Edelgard’s goal of conquering Fodlan can’t coexist with Dimitri and Claude being around.
I am someone who is writing a “silver ending” fanfic with Claude and Edelgard working together - as is [same user as before], which I suspect is part of what prompted her original post. (On a side note, her fic is already posted and really good so far - I actually want to read more despite not primarily being an Edeleth fic, which is a rarity for me!)
No wonder a Edelstan primarily likes Edeleth. Also, Claude would never work with Edelgard, just look at the game.
